Song Information of Jobin Music Box

Dear Yves, you wrote in 010825 MMDigest:

I am gradually learning about the traditional styles of music and music
performance in Europe.

"Landler" is a folk dance style, in 3/4-meter (waltz meter), that
is danced in the south of Germany and other regions in the Alps.

I have a CD out of Switzerland called "20 Oergeli-Hits" and
which contains songs played by different quartets that play the
Schwyzeroergeli, the small button-box accordion of Switzerland.

Therefore, it seems that the word "Schwerzerlandler" means a style
of Swiss folk-dance. But, on the other hand, in German "schwer" means
difficult, therefore maybe the name means a difficult dance! ;-)

The Jobin firm still exists in Switzerland, although they are smaller
than in former times. You can write to

  Ed. Jobin AG
  Hauptstrasse 111
  CH-3855 Brienzes

With best regards from sunny California
