I have just returned from the North Carolina Regional Conference of the Piano
Technicians Guild and picked up a card from John Walker of Brookes Long
Distance Piano Moving.  John was moving pianos for the exhibitors at the
conference.  I don't remember Brookes being mentioned in the MMD.  As I
talked with John, he appeared knowledgeable about moving reproducing grands;
he did, however, say he would use the pedal lyre to tilt a grand "if it would
take it," indicating that it would help clear the stack; I believe he said he
tilts with the skid board already strapped to the piano.
