A radical idea has occurred to me and I'd like to know if this has
been done before.  I have a Mason & Hamlin 5'8" with an Ampico;
I also own a Yamaha concert grand.

Are you ahead of me?  Yes, I'm thinking of switching the Ampico from
the 5' 8" piano to the 9-foot.  What phenomenal performances I could
get from those rolls, then!  My questions are:  has this been done,
can it be done, how difficult and expensive would it be?  I appreciate
all responses.

 [ Solenoid players are regularly installed in the smaller Yamaha
 [ grands, and the long slot in the keyframe support plank (for the
 [ striker rods to pass from below) seems not to affect the strength
