Hallet & Davis Player Piano
By Tom Lathom

A friend has asked me about a player piano that they are interested
in purchasing (on eBay). Not being a technician, I'm not familiar with
the manufacturer, quality, etc. Can anyone give us a little information
on Hallet & Davis Piano Co. and what type of player systems they put in
their pianos? The seller is calling this a "repeater" (?). I've not
heard this terminology used before in players, and can only imagine
that it simply means the piano can be set to rewind the roll and play
it again without operator involvement, as does my Bush & Lane, Welte.

Would I be correct in assuming that the Hallet & Davis would be an
88-note player? Any particular concerns a player buyer should have
with a Hallet & Davis? Any comments would be most appreciated. Thanks

Tom Lathom
