Cost of Player Piano Repairs
By Mary Hare

-- non-subscriber, please reply to sender and MMD --

I have a 1960 Pianola spinet player piano with the foot pump bellows.
I have an estimate of $1600 to repair it and he wants me to take it
to his shop, and I think that is excessive. However, there is only
one person in this area who can do these repairs. Do I have any
other options?

Mary F. Hare

[ I replied to Mary and suggested that the player technician had
[ previous bad experiences with the plastic components (valves),
[ and so he gave a price high enough to pay for making all new
[ components. I suggested that she consider installing a new
[ action by QRS Story & Clark. What other options are available
 [ to her? -- Robbie
