Seek Grand Roller Organ Rollers [Cobs]
By Richard Dutton

-- non-subscriber, please reply to sender and MMD --

For years I have been involved in collecting rollers ("cobs") for the
20-note (Gem, Concert, Chautauqua) roller organ and learning about the
music that appeared on it. Identifying cobs with missing, partial or
illegible labels by ear has been a specialty of mine.

I recently bought a Grand (32-note) roller organ that plays the larger
cobs (about 13", with a larger diameter than the 20-note cobs) and I
love it. It is a totally different instrument from the 20-note organ
and I am sorry I did not acquire one years ago.

I am looking for cobs to play on it. I am willing to pay what I
consider to be a very high price in cash, or will trade a large number
of 20-note cobs of a person's choice from my hundreds of duplicates,
for any Grand roller organ cob in playable condition, including the
less desirable hymns, forgotten songs, etc.

I would also like to correspond with other MMD subscribers who have
Grand organs to exchange information, etc. Thank you.
