G. Molinari & Sons 25-key Street Barrel Organ
By John Reublin

I have three questions about the subject organ:

1. The Molinari name is painted over the top of another barely
discernible name on the outside bottom of the organ. As best as I can
make it out it reads "A. Lacomarcino(sic?) 77 Baxter St. New York".

Would this be the real maker of this organ? If so, can someone please
tell me something about this person and/or organ or where to find this
information?

2. There is a glassed-in picture in the bottom of the removable frame
in the front of the organ. It seems to me that the real function of
this area may have been for advertising. Is this so? Or just any
pretty picture placed there will do?

3. This organ seems pretty heavy to be played supported by a shoulder
strap alone. How would have it been supported during play? Would a
cart be out of place? I just am not able to find a source for pictures
and details on the subject.
