Yamaha UX16 USB to MIDI Interface Unit
By Bill Klinger

I recently purchased a Yamaha UX16 MIDI interface and wondered if
anyone else out there was using one of these devices.

I have setup a small direct-electric organ chest being driven by a
j-Omega MIDI-parallel driver board. The UX16 provides USB to MIDI-in
and MIDI-out to a laptop computer. The small size, low cost and being
powered off the USB port makes this interface very desirable for my
application.

With Winamp, I can setup a play list and have the organ play on and
on. I may go in and add some empty measures to the end of the MIDI
files to make a pause between tunes. Yahama offers drivers up to
Windows XP for this device. For MAC folks, yes it works with them,
too.

Appreciate any feedback,
