Seeburg L Auction Price
By Brian Smith

Re: Kim Bunker's post in MMD 050530:

I've been following Seeburg L prices closely for a half dozen years now
and $4,300 is not that far off the mark. Seeburg L pianos generally go
for between $4,000 and $10,000, depending on many factors:

    a.) condition of the instrument
b.) where it is being sold, i.e., eBay, private auction, etc.
c.) how many collectors/interested people there are to bid
d.) how many interested people know about the instrument for sale.

A few years ago there was a beautiful original-condition, late style L
that went for around $10,000. These pianos are not worth $15,000. If
you're paying that much, you're getting ripped off.

It will be wonderful if prices are reasonable for us, the majority of
automatic music fans who are not multi-millionaires.
