It's really sad to hear that something as collectible as a Seeburg Model
L would sell for only $4,300.00, when just a few years ago they were
fetching nearly double that.  It only tells me that, instead of
increasing in value so that automatic musical instruments can be
considered a good investment, their value is falling.  This has made a
bad mark on the collecting field.

I realize not everyone thinks the same way about rebuilding and
collecting automatic musical instruments as I and many others do.  By
the way, I don't own any automatic musical instruments right now.

Why don't we start selling Mills Violanos for $2,500.00, like they did
in 1982?  For that matter, why don't we just give all of these
instruments away, and then we won't need the hobby groups anymore?

The point I'm trying to make is, if we see higher prices, that means
there is a lot of interest in collecting.  No one has to be rich to
collect; all you need to be is in the right place at the right time!
When we see lower prices on these marvels, it means there isn't much
demand for them, and I really don't think any of us want that!
