For sale: Nicole Freres 4-air Mandolin box, brass bedplate, large
diameter, approx. 17-inch cylinder.  177 teeth in the comb, if
memory serves me correctly, which had never sustained damage or repair.
Apart from one or two usual damper squeaks it plays the light operatic
airs beautifully.  The case is unrestored and in fabulous original
condition -- a very desirable and rare collector-condition instrument.

Again I'm considering thinning out my collection of mainly Nicole
cylinder boxes, including several Piano Forte, small early F. Nicole,
etc.  None would disappoint the most fastidious of collectors. If anyone
would like to  enjoy a fine box, please feel free to get in touch, it's
such a shame they are stashed away unappreciated after years of
compulsive buying.
