Mechanical Music Aboard Ships

Under the best of circumstances, pre-air-conditioning ships weren't
and aren't particularly dry anywhere.  I don't know what they did to
keep any piano in good shape, much less a player piano with its
leather-and-wood computer...  I suppose you'd need a lot of varnish.
