With regard to a light oil for electric motors, Singer sewing machine
oil is still available at sewing shops.  It is a clear, light,
non-gumming oil which works well for all motor bearings or bushings.

Klotz synthetic lube is also clear and non-gumming.  "3-in-1" oil,
unfortunately, becomes gummy with age and is not recommended.
