Any Interest in a Green Welte Recut Project?
By Tim Baxter

Dear Folks, With my recent acquisition of a Green Welte T-98, I am
trying to gauge whether there is any interest in a Green Welte recut
project.

My approach would be a bit different; I would like to convert high
quality late Licensee performances into Green Welte format (rather than
issuing Red Welte T-100 titles in Green format, as has usually been
done). There are fabulous performances on these late Licensee rolls
that have not been available to Green Welte owners. The latest
scanning and roll reconstruction technology will permit a transfer
to the Green system (with its somewhat moribund "Tempo 70" playback
mechanism) in a manner that the full matrix of the higher-tempi
Licensee performances can be retained without degradation at the lower
Green Welte tempi (however, chain bridging patterns may have to be
altered somewhat, but that's another story).

If there is any interest, I will consider undertaking such a project.
Please write to me or to the MMD.

Best regards,
Tim Baxter - Meliora Music Rolls
