Sources of Repair Materials
By Paul Camps

Hi, With regards to the current thread about quality, is anyone in
MMD land going to produce a definitive list of which manufacturer
makes the best quality materials, and more important, which supplier
to go to, to get them?

Most of us have to rely on, in the first instant, the claims made by
the retail outlet. Only when we are in receipt of such goods can we
inspect for ourselves the visual aspects. If there is any doubt we
are usually able to return anything we feel doesn't come up to scratch.
In time experience guides us to the supplier that we are happiest with,
but even that supplier may not be the best.

I appreciate that whoever undertook such a task would be putting their
head on a chopping block, but even some broadly-based list would help
steer those keen amateurs among us in the right direction. There may,
after all, be no absolute guarantee; even the best manufacturer may
produce a bad batch and it will still fall to the individual to make
checks before use, just in case.

Cheers, Paul Camps
