Pipe Organ Blower Motor Problem
By Robbie Rhodes

I asked Bruce Newman for more information. He reports that a
capacitor is mounted on the motor. Three wires are provided for
operating power and control functions, colored black, red and white.
The motor nameplate says it is a 1-phase motor, 220V, 60 HZ; the maker
is Brook Crompton Parkinson Motors, Doncaster, England.

The wire colors hint that the motor is built to UK specifications for
220V 1-phase mains, not the North American split phase (120-0-120V)
mains. The proper use of the three wires isn't yet known.

The manufacturer's web site is http://www.brookcrompton.com/
Single phase motors are described in the PDF file bulletin
