Power of the MMD
By Andy Taylor

Hi all,

Once again, my hat is off to the MMD. My last query ["Seek Gulbransen
Stack and Pump," 07.08.10 MMD] netted most, if not all, of the parts to
make this old derelict Gulbransen play again.

In the old days, before the Internet and the MMD, searching for an
orphaned player mechanism was almost futile, unless you were extremely
lucky. More times than not, the piano was doomed to spend the rest of
it's life as an empty non-player.

Some people have taken issue with the policies of this forum for
various reasons I will not go into, resulting in a few authors refusing
to contribute any longer. Be that as it may, in this instance the MMD
has done for me exactly what is was conceived to do.

I would invite anyone who thinks running a moderated forum like this is
easy to just try it, and try to make everybody happy. It's impossible!
As for me, I humbly state that I do appreciate Jody's and Robbie's
efforts. Thanks guys for keeping this forum going!

Andy Taylor
