Promoting Mechanical Music
By Sharon Marie

First of all, I'd like to thank all those who responded to my inquiry,
regarding mechanical music representation at the festival. As I've
mentioned previously, it may had been possible that I missed something,
and apparently I did. I was only able to attend on Sunday, and tried
seeing and hearing as much as I could.

That said, I'm glad to learn that there was in fact representation by
AMICA, Julie Porter and her roll scanning equipment, and John Mottoros
with his Pianino for all to enjoy. It sounds like they were quite a
success with the crowd. Had I have known these demonstrations were
present, they would have been the first things on my list to visit, but
I didn't see anything listed in the Program Guide. It's a shame that I
missed them, but it's great to know that others had a chance to enjoy
them.
