Identifying a Barrel Piano
By Francoise Dussour

Regarding the Capra barrel piano offered for sale in the 080207 MMD,
you can find illustrations and information about barrel pianos made in
France on these two websites in French:

    http://home.tele2.fr/mnallino/piano_fr.html
    http://www.jcbourdais.net/journal/21juin05.php

The Capra seems to be built in Italy and the description fits a stan-
dard one of the type.

If the crank is on the left side and has a spring-motor, it is a French
system. If the hand crank is on the front, it is an Italian system.

Regards from France,
Francoise Dussour
