Mechanical Music Poetry
By Adam G. Ramet

I thought I'd try my hand at some (mercifully short) mechanical music
poetry this evening...

Sincerely,
Adam Ramet

 - - -

ODE TO A KEYFRAME

My fingers ran through the keyframe
As I fed it full of card.
It trimmed my fingernails
And the drums don't play so hard.

ODE TO TUNING A FAIR ORGAN

We tried to tune your organ with a plane.
Your pipes look much more even in the main.
We planed down all the sharps
Then planed flats into parps.
You'll probably never need it done again.

ODE TO FAIR ORGAN REBUILDING

I burnt four Gaviolis
Two large ones - and a Ruth
Then smashed a small McCarthy
With a hammer. Loved it - truth!

ODE TO VERMIN CONTROL IN FAIR ORGANS

Always make bellows puff hard.
It stops flies from snoozing in pipes.
It doesn't quite work though for wasps
But bandmasters can take some good swipes.

Tho' glockenspiel cheese attracts mice
The beaters can bang on their head.
If you cut tremolo notes close together
They'll repeat 'til a mouse is quite dead.
