Smoke Damage to Player Piano Parts
By Larry Mayo

Spencer Chase writes that, as a result of the fire damage reported in
the 100420 MMD, "I am probably going to toss most of the player stuff,
as there is little point in putting a lot of effort into cleaning
parts that will never be used. Unfortunately I do not have any place
to store a bunch of smelly stuff, just in case I do need it in the
future."

All of it can be put in a small room and shocked with ozone produced by
a machine you can rent for about $35. These are the same machines used
to remove smoke smell from hotel rooms.
