Player Piano Value
By Steve Marx

I'd like to put my tuppence to Paul Brennan posting. I don't think
it's fair to say that player piano rebuilds are expensive. They
are considerably cheap. Just go to your local piano shop and see
what $20,000 gets you: not much -- listen to the tone! They have
a too bright "in your face" sound.

When I do a rebuild I do the whole player action, piano action and
put my non-rusting strings on both bass and treble. I am the first
producer of non-rusting strings, all of that for $6,000. As most of
you would have seen the standard I set (on YouTube) you can tell this
is nothing but fair.
