"Take It Away Or It Goes To The Dump"
By David Dewey

Yes, that phrase bugs me too. I had one off-topic experience with
just this phrase. One of my "other" hobbies is toy trains, since
I was a very small child. Back when I was in about the eighth grade
(so, hmmm, about 1967) a school friend's brother stopped by my house.

"I'm on my way to the dump -- if you want my train, it's $5!" He
literally _was_ on his way to the dump. Back then five dollars was
big money for me, but I talked my Dad into an advance on my allowance
-- and yes, I still have that train set!

Yes, some things do need to go to the dump, but I just can't bear that
thought!
