Lyrics Printed on the Left Margin
By Lee Rothrock

John Swesey inquires about the significance of lyrics on the left.
I think, mainly, it means you have a relatively old roll. My earliest
rolls are from the 1890s, and I can't really say when it seems that
lyrics on the right became standard, but I have lots of them with the
words on the left.

In some cases, there are words on both sides. When this happens it's
because it's a duet with both parts or alternative lyrics.
