Unknown Brass Cylinder Music Box Plays 32 Reeds
By Fredy Gerer

A never-before-seen musical box!

Dear MMD Friends, after fifty years of collecting I finally came
across a music box that I have never seen before anywhere in my life.
It is in a plain wood case, has a brass cylinder 22 cm long playing six
songs, but no comb. Instead it has 32 reeds that are played from the
cylinder. It does not have a crank but instead a regular music spring
motor. The crank is from the top, like Kalliope.

Inside is a piece of paper indicating that it was once repaired in
Switzerland. I would like to write an article on this box but before
I continue I would like to know if anyone knows the name of the
manufacturer. Is there a similar box somewhere? Of course it could be
a prototype item that was never manufactured. Any help is appreciated,
