Seek Spools & Flanges for Welte Licensee Rolls
By Adam Aceto

I purchased a collection of Welte licensee rolls from a local estate
sale. The rolls and boxes are in terrific shape, however the flanges
on both ends of the spools are bent, or perhaps "melted" is the right
word. I have a feeling the rolls were stored for a time in a hot,
southern California attic or garage and were heated enough so that the
weight of the roll depressed both flanges where it rested in the box,
"indenting" or "flattening" them on one side.

The paper is not brittle and the rolls are worth saving, however this
indentation is now chewing the rolls to pieces on rewind. I have tried
the "trick" or putting a rubber band between the spool and the flange,
however in most cases this hasn't worked.

I'm looking for intermediate and large size Welte licensee or equivalent
flanged spools, with flanges roughly in the neighborhood of 2-1/8",
2-1/4" and 2-1/2". About 20 of each size is needed; they can be new or
old from discarded rolls. Reasonable price appreciated.
