Standard Pneumatic Action Secondary Valve Travel
By Jeff Davis

Has anyone done a study of the valve throw in a Standard Pneumatic
Action secondary valve? How much is optimum?

I've often felt there was too much in my latest rebuild but the
action was always heading out the door before I could experiment.
I'm now working on an Ivers & Pond early Standard and any help
would be appreciated.

I know that primary valves should be at 0.030" travel, and they
usually are, but what about the secondary valves?
