FS Free: Standard Autopiano in Detroit Area
By Mark Pleatman

Forty years ago I acquired an unrestored upright Autopiano. I bought
Reblitz's book and meticulously restored the upper stack with the help
of a friend who is a professional restorer. He rebuilt the wind motor
and the lower mechanism. I had the case professionally refinished,
making sure that they retained the decal with the $600 price tag.

My family enjoyed the piano for many years, but time took its toll
and the cloth in the pneumatics stiffened to the point where it became
unplayable. I asked my friend to rebuild it this time. Unfortunately,
he "lost" it, so now I am stuck with a player piano that doesn't play.

I am now 70 years old and need to get rid of the piano. I would hate
to see it go to a dumpster. I also have a collection of rolls. I would
be happy to give the piano and rolls to anyone who might be able to
find a use for it. I am located in the metropolitan Detroit area.
