RTV Silicone Caulk Sealant for Leather
By James Black

I must agree with him. My own experience of using ordinary
colourless RTV silicone thinned with naphtha is very positive.
It is just about impossible to tell by looking at the treated
leather whether it has been treated, it will probably outlast
the leather, it is cheap, it is easily obtainable, it does not
turn to dust like rubber and it appears to be completely
effective at sealing porous leather.

Why use something costing $200 a quart (Pelseal) when you can
get something that works so well for less than $10?
