Mechanical Music in the Movies
By Nancy Fratti

In reply to Lee Rothrock's reference to the music box in the "Tugboat"
film [170123 MMDigest], the music box playing sounds like a 15-inch
Regina or 18-inch Mira. The sound is definitely a disc box sound,
not a cylinder box sound.

Note too that the jewel cap on the governor of the box in the film has
no jewel and is cocked off to the left so the worm pivot hits the side
of the jewel cap.
