Dear MMD,  I am a composer setting out to write new music for the
Ariosa 18-note organette. I am new to mechanical music machines but
very eager to learn.

I will be writing a piece for a symphonic orchestra which the organette
will have a part in. This will be the pilot project but I hope to crack
the code and continue to write new music for the metal discs and maybe
even reprint modern and classical era music.

I have come the point where I have found the software APrint and have
started to learn how to use it. I am in contact with a blacksmith with
a large machine that can make the discs for me if only I know where to
put the holes. :-)

My questions to you lovely people are (1) do you have any advice on
this in general?  (2) Have others tried this before? (3) How do I know
how much space to give to the "time slip" from the inside of the disc
to the notes further out on the disk?  All help is welcome!
