Back in 2013 Jim Spriggs wrote of an issue he was having with
chained note perforations that "strike repeatedly on certain
'held' notes represented by chain perforations on the roll."

I am having the same issue on a 1926 Standard single valve action
I just rebuilt. Select rolls with narrower than normal perforations
are where this occurs.

The valves were entirely rebuilt with fresh matching leather and the
stack is very tight. Full disclosure, I did not replace the pouches
because they were in good shape, very flexible .005-.006" thick and
no more porous than the new .070-.080 pouch leather I could have
replaced them with. Bleeds were open and clear and channels well
sealed.

No doubt it relates to the quick valve response to the very small
amount of atmosphere opened to the valve at the narrow paper
perforation, but should I try to make the valve less responsive?
Is the stack too tight? Any thoughts would be appreciated.
