YouTube Copyright Claims
By Christian Tedesco

YouTube's copyright system does not like mechanical music. However,
one would think that an "advanced algorithm" would be able to recognize
if something is public domain and then not remove it.

In regards to Art Thompson's scenario from last Digest, if anything, he
should file a claim against the band! In all seriousness, they did not
have his permission to use his organ, which is his private property,
in their own album. Even worse, being an album, they are making revenue
from selling his organ, again without his permission.

I would like to preface what I am about to say by making it clear
I am not a lawyer or legal expert. However, I believe action should be
taken. Contacting the producers is a great start. If I was Art, I would
probably want some compensation, because they didn't have his
permission and they are making money off of it.

I just thought I would throw my two cents worth into the discussion.
Art, please keep me updated on what's going on. You can contact me at
the email below.
