|Dear Jody here is a somewhat belated response to your survey;|
[ Snip -- saved in my records. No apologies needed. Your response
[ is number 8. I'm hoping I get more replies. I'm sure that some
[ of our readers don't know how to copy that message into an
[ outgoing piece of mail and edit it. This is nothing to be
[ ashamed of. Someone had to teach me how to use an IBM 026
[ card punch once.
Doubtless the U.S. news networks have picked up the dreadful massacre that has occurred here. We are all stunned and disbelieving and dreading learning the names of the dead - at present the official toll is 32. We have just heard over the radio that the gunman has been apprehended but nobody knows about the fate of his hostages, yet. Regards, John P.
[ Editor's Note: I've been a little out of touch (working on hard
[ a new revision of the the scanner software I've been working on
[ with Mike Ames and David Wasson). I had not heard.
[ I just checked CNN's web page. The massacre (described as
[ Australias worst) occurred in Port Arthur. More information
[ online is available:
