"Pussycat Rag" and "Grandaddy Longlegs"
By Andy Taylor

In regard to "Pussycat Rag", also "Grandaddy Longlegs," if you can send
me a cassette tape of the music, I will "try" to arrange it for you if
the original cannot be found. I cannot read music (my computer can) and
if you like the arrangement, I will have it perforated. I am always
looking for musical oddities.

A few lines of that song appeared in MMD. Now try this one. I've had
fun with these lyrics; it goes to the tune of "The Old Piano Roll Blues."
This is about an old leaky player piano that will still play (barely).

"I wanna hear it again, but I'm out of wind"
   The old piano roll blues.
Sittin' at th' player, my sweetie and I,
Pumping ninety miles per hour, think I'm gonna die!
I wanna hear it again, but I'm outta wind!
   The piano won't play,
Well the valves are a-leakin' and the pouches are gone,
And the poor old piano goes a-limpin' along,
I wanna hear it again, but I'm outta wind,
   The piano roll blues!

Well I'm plumb tuckered out and I'm lookin' pale,
And I can't rewind 'cause the chain just derailed!!!
I wanna hear it again, but I'm outta wind,
   The old piano roll blues!!!

[ Thanks to Joyce Brite for editing Andy's cute lyric for the Digest.
[ Now I'm fighting the temptation to put the lines and syllables in
 [ reverse order, like on a player roll ! :) -- Robbie
