"Put Another Nickel In"
By Damon Atchison

Does anyone know the history of that song about a nickelodeon. The
lyrics said, "Put another nickel in, in the nickelodeon." The song
had parts of just piano playing, which sounded much like a coin piano
playing 20's music. I believe it was made in the 1950's.

Damon Atchison

[ The hit record, "Put Another Nickel In", was sung by Theresa Brewer,
[ a British lass, I believe. The piano had thumb-tacks in the hammers,
[ or they were lacquered, and the "tipsy wire box" tuning was applied.
[ Sad, but that's the _image_ of the nickelodeon sound! -- Robbie
