Max Kortlander "12th Street Rag"
By John Farrell

Bryan S. Cather wanted to know if Max Kortlander made a piano roll
of "12th Street Rag". Yes, it's QRS 1188 released in 1920 but be
careful -- QRS subsequently released a rearrangement by J. Lawrence
Cook but still used the same catalog number as the Kortlander version.
The Cook roll was reissued in 1970 as Q167.

Bryan also asked if Victor Arden assisted Kortlander on the roll --
Arden is not mentioned in any of the 12th Street Rag entries in my
reference books.
