Seek Optical Transcriber System
By Phil Dayson

Before the roll-reading debate dies away I would like to send this
message to all of those out there who have knowledge of optical
transcribing technique.

Is there anyone out there who could offer for sale a fully functional
optical transcriber system along with user friendly (Windows) software
for its operation? In the world of mechanical music there must be
others like myself who would like to transcribe their collection of
rolls but who do not have the ability to build a system themselves.

Alternatively, is there any one willing to transcribe substantial
numbers of roll for a fee. I suspect, however, that this would not be
a very cost effective solution, especially for ordinary 88-note rolls.

I have Wayne Stahnke's Telarc CDs. What would the best way for us
"non scanners" to acquire some of the apparently large numbers of
transcribed rolls that appear to be out there?

Perhaps I am simply being too impatient. As more and more people buy
the PowerRoll system, the demand for (and the supply of) transcribed
rolls will surely grow .
