Cleaning Accordion Keytops
By Dean T. Smith

With all the restorations I read about, I am sure someone can advise
me as to cleaning the keys on my 60-year-old accordion. They have
yellowed and the parts of the center section of the keyboard have
turned dark yellow or brown where my fingers touch the keys the most.

Also, where would be the best place to get the reed boards reworked?
The bass side was done in about 1979 but I do not know where it was
actually done. I need the keyboard side done now. In general, where
would I go to get good work done on any part of the squeeze box?

Years ago, my wife came up with a newspaper cartoon showing an
accordion player on a street corner with a sign that read "Will stop
playing for money.". That is still the general feeling about the
"instrument from Hell", I guess.

I am using my AOL email now. Alta Vista is dropping email in March.
I can be reached at <deansmith30043@aol.com>

I like to see where all the contributors are from.

Thanks,
Dean Smith
