Dear MMDs,  As Robbie told you yesterday, a large auction of mechanical
music and related items will take place (as usual for years now, two
times a year), in Chartres, France, on Sunday afternoon May 12th 2002.

Here is a summary of what you may see in this auction :

About 260 lots :

 - Fine automata by Bontems, Farkas, Decamps, Roullet-Decamps, Vichy, etc.
 - Coin-operated and gambling machines, phonographs and fairground
   artifacts, and a Scopitone
- A model at scale 1/10th of the famous astronomical clock in the
   Strasbourg cathedral
 - A large 52 keys Limonaire type organ, on a trailer,
   and a 38 keys Limonaire
 - A Magic Organa accordion with percussions
 - Many barrel pianos, organettes, and serinettes,
 - Many musical boxes, cylinder boxes (a rare Capital Box, an
   interchangeable Ullmann, two coin operated "boites de gare")
   and disc boxes (Mira, Polyphon, Symphonion)
 - An exceptional collection of engravings about barrel organ players.
