Reverting to Pedals for a Player Piano
By John A. Tuttle

Re: I want my pedals back!

Hi All, Claudine Jones sent me a web address which leads to a picture
of the lower portion of her player piano. While I can't be positive
about whether or not the vacuum pump has the one-way flap valve found
on all of the later systems manufactured by the Player Piano Company,
the picture clearly shows the dual-stage speed controller that is a
part of the electrification kit. See: http://dotcomdetox.com/piano

Also, since Claudine said that the pedals did create enough vacuum
to run the air motor in Rewind, I admit that I "assumed" that the
flap valve was operational.

Musically,

John A. Tuttle
