Preserving & Promoting Mechanical Music
By John A. Tuttle

Hi All, I don't have any time because business is so brisk that
I'm already working 16 hour days, seven days a week. (It's a darn
good thing my wife loves me...)

As for these threads about preserving, promoting, and posting items
related to player pianos, it's all old news. We've been talking about
it since the MMDigest started in 1995 (or 1996).

From where I sit, things are great! The absolute best venue for
handling all of the above already exists. It's called the Mechanical
Music Digest, and everyone can find it if they are looking. A generic
web search for 'player pianos' now renders some 1.5 million hits at
Google and over 1/4 million at Ask.com.

Do we need any more exposure? Is starting something "new" going to
make things better? Now we have a choice of systems to interface
with a pneumatic player, so we can listen to limitless hours of music.
And, there is another system on its way to market.

If we need anything, it's more player technicians! Do you know any
who do not have a backlog? I don't!

Well, I'm out of time -- back to the grind! Ya gotta love it!

Musically,
John A Tuttle
