Unknown Tunes on Seeburg G Roll
By Ken Vinen

I feel this is the "G" roll you are talking about. It's a Play-Rite
recut, G-819, called "Favourite Dance Hits". The tunes on my copy are
numbered 1 through 10. The titles given are

 1 - Animal Crackers
 2 - Red Red Robin
 3 - Good Night - fox trot
 4 - Sleepy Head - waltz
 5 - Tenderly
6 - Harlem Chocolate Babies on Parade
 7 - Sweet Blue Bird - waltz
8 - Hard to Get Gertie
 9 - That's Why I Love You
10 - Valencia - Dance Parisienne

As for the last two tunes on the video clips, "Dream Kisses" and "The
Charleston" were from a special request composite roll custom made for
a person in Indiana. This is for certain as I now own that instrument
pictured and I had a copy of that custom roll included when I bought
the piano. I can't say what original rolls those two tunes were copied
from.

I did not keep this custom roll because it was made with no concern
about tempo as the selections were cut. It was necessary to reset the
tempo on the piano for every tune, which is not ideal on a nickelodeon.

I did check for "Stein Song" and "My Blue Heaven" and I don't have
those on "G" or "4-X" rolls, however the tunes come up frequently on
"A" rolls.

Hope this is helpful.
