B&B Carousell Sign
By Bob Yorburg

Re: Matthew Caulfield's comment on the B&B Carousell sign in
      yesterday's PPCo Sign thread

I indeed asked about the fate of the B&B Carousell sign as the carousel
and band organ were being removed. As it turns out, the sign was
painted on tin running the length of the building. It was fastened
directly to the studs supporting that end of the building. Removing
the sign would have required re-siding the building. In that there was
no budget for building restoration, the request was turned down.

Upon closer inspection, the building was really only meant to keep
weather off of the carousel. It was not heated and had no other
amenities. There was a small quarters with a cot where the ride
operator or mechanic slept. No heat and a bare bulb. I did get photos
before the building was closed forever.

An authentic piece of history passing the way of the rest of Coney
Island.
