Rebuilding Baldwin Manualo Exhauster Bellows
By David Dewey

Hi all, Well, I installed the rebuilt pump today, and the piano plays
wonderfully. This was quite a project, as the previous rebuilder did
_not_ use hot glue! He also put the stiffeners in backwards.

The felt blocks preventing the pumping bellows from closing were not
re-installed, and that seems to be a good decision. The museum is very
happy, and I'm pleased with the results so far.

I ran out of time to finish the motor regulator adjustments, so I will
still have to drop in one more time to finish it all.

Thanks for the help, all -- I now know why I prefer "untouched" pianos
for rebuilding!

David Dewey
