Information on Piano and Player Mechanism
By Don Teach

I have seen one Smith & Barnes piano with a Standard player mechanism.
If you restore it with new strings and hammers, etc., then you will
have a wonderful sounding piano.

The Smith, Barnes & Strohber Piano Company of Chicago made pianos for
some of the nickelodeon manufacturers and that will be explained in
an upcoming book by Q. David Bowers and Art Reblitz. Mr. Bowers has
finished his part of the book, I believe.
