The "Beatrice" Steinway Duo-Art derives it's name from the fact
that it was previously owned by Queen Victoria's youngest daughter,
Princess Beatrice of the United Kingdom, who became Princess Henry
of Battenberg upon marriage.

Beatrice was a great music lover and a gifted pianist, said to be
of professional standard. Sadly, her playing suffered in later
years owing to rheumatism and she bought the reproducing piano as
a consolation. The instrument was acquired by Frank Holland in the
nineteen-fifties and formed an important item in the collection which
became the London Piano Museum, now known as the Musical Museum.
