Hi Rob;

In response to your message:

I thank you for the offer. I got a copy of a rag fest on the 30-A from
Robbie Rhodes a few years back with some very rare rags on it- could it
be the same one? It had many of the rags that were on the 110 MPO rolls
that Sandoval had with it in a back room at the Playland Arcade.

Amazing. I not only have heard it, but recorded it on my newest release,
"Ragging the Baby to Sleep" ($18.00 ppd). I have the original Pryor Band
arrangement and I must say I got a cleaner, superior performance of it
with this Los Angeles Band (half of whom are LA studio pros) that what you
could ever hear on an acoustic 78. Of course, I had the benefit of knowing
Pryor's tempi and style, so I imparted that to the performance on the CD.
You might also want to get "Our Favorite Rag", the first Stomp Off CD I
did featuring the U. of Wisc. Eau Claire Symph. Band. I recorded his
"Frozen Bill" as well as "That Flying Rag" on that one.
All the CDs are $18.00 ppd- all come with 100% money back guarantees
and may be ordered by sending a check to me @ 2676 W Fairmont Ave. #102
Fresno CA 93705-0118. I would love to trade if these were my own projects,
but I must reimburse Stomp Off Records nearly the whole amount. Perhaps the
next project- I have several band and vocal projects planned and I have
also planned on purchasing some of your fine 88-note rolls in the future.
Could you send me a catalogue? My interest is in ragtime and pre-1920
blues. I want to hear some of those "BluesTones" I have heard so much
about (Dick Zimmerman RAVES about your rolls!!!) And I loved that midi
arrangement of Jefferson Davis.

> Any thoughts of making it to Sedalia one of these times?

Jeannie Wright tells me she is planning on bringing me in as a guest
conductor of a band, but first, she has to get a band! I would imagine
she knows more about whether I'll be coming in '96 or not at this point,
should you happen to speak with her.

Thank you for your response, Rob. BTW, if you liked the 30-A, you should
hear Hathaway's style 34-A. The double string register and clarinet rank
adds a terrific dimension.

Continued success and all the good stuff,

SKG

P.S. I'll be guest conducting the local British-style brass band and holding
a composer's symposia at the West Coast Ragtime Festival this year,
November 17-19 @ the Fresno Hilton. See you there?
