John, this is incorrect. The PowerRoll system does not include
data storage and will not need to be upgraded when the floppy becomes
obsolete; just connect the new storage medium which replaces it, to
the PowerRoll. Any medium able to hold electrical 1's and 0's can be
used for that purpose. Please remember that, among other types of
traditional music roll data, the PowerRoll plays _actual Ampico rolls_,
not 'PowerRolls'!

Of course, if electrical storage of data ever becomes obsolete and
all devices now available for that purpose disappear, we will be in
trouble; but the world does not seem to be moving in that direction.

If this possibility really worries you, I would suggest hermetic refuge
from the world except, perhaps, for a subscription to a survivalist
magazine.  In this case the Ampico would probably not be a good choice;
most of these require electricity. A foot-pumper would be more
practical.
