Info on Kreiter
By Brett Mohr

A friend has an associate that now has a Kreiter Player Piano. He asked
me if I could help her find out any info on age, value, repair cost and
anything else that would be of interest to her. It has been in her
family for who knows how long and she knows little else about it. I
have not seen it, it is across the state from where I live. I asked
her to look for a name on the player unit but they failed to find any.
The number on the plate is 40401.

My question is does anyone know what kind of player was installed in
Kreiter and is the Kreiter brand considered a low end, middle or upper
grade piano. This is probably not a fair question to ask someone but
here goes anyway- Would anyone care to guess at a value for this piano
in fair shape unrestored ( I know sight unseen it is about impossible,
but just a ball park figure ) and what is the price range in the Midwest
for restoration of an 88 note player ( once again its hard to be very
accurate with what little info available ).

I looked up Kreiter in the past digest's ( A big THANKS to Bob Fitterman
for making it so easy to search ) and all I could find was where Dan
Armstrong was restoring a Kreiter Nickelodeon and Arthur Reblitz book
( couldn't live with out it! ) didn't mention this company so I am at a
loss for where to look for more info. Any help would be deeply
appreciated.

Thanks!!
                             Brett Mohr
